About Me

I have been editing professionally since 2019, when I earned a certificate in copyediting from UC San Diego. I’m also a writer. My books include critically acclaimed biographies of the photographer Tina Modotti and the painter Joan Mitchell and a forthcoming life of the photographer André Kertész. As a university instructor, I’ve taught professional writing to art and art history students. As a museum development director, I’ve written and overseen dozens of fundraising proposals. I speak near-native French, decent Spanish, and so-so Swahili. My professional memberships include the Editorial Freelancers Association, Bay Area Editors’ Forum, Biographers International, International Association of Art Critics, and the Authors Guild. When I’m not editing or writing, I might be found traveling or at home in the San Francisco Bay Area viewing art, watching a film, or hiking with family or friends.
